PepsiCo’s Head of Digital Strategy, Abhishek Jadon, shared in an interview on Pinterest his view of the market for 2018. “The one trend I’m really excited about in 2018 is voice and the power that voice orders and commands are going to have” he said. Jadon said he has a three-year-old daughter who feels more comfortable using her voice to manage household devices –personal devices, her dad, everything— than any other instrument. “For marketers, the rising capability of voice will have a huge impact, because the whole philosophy of the Internet of Things is actually coming to life through people’s voices being able to tell things what they want them to do. People don’t want to use multiple apps or multiple anything to command their car or fridge or TV to do certain things – voice is going to take care of all that” he said. The executive said marketers should ask themselves: “What is my consumer doing?” And then provide convenience and value in that precise context.”
