Retired Univision 41 lead news anchor Rafael Pineda returns alongside WXTV Univision 41 anchors Katiria Soto, Liliana Ayende and Salvador Cruz to join the ceremonial lighting of the Empire State Building to celebrate the station’s 50th anniversary on Friday, August 3, 2018.

Univision New York has served Latinos in the Tri-state area through local television, radio, and digital properties as well as through community engagement since its founding. The station has long given a voice to the Hispanic community’s stories and provided a bridge to critical resources and information, especially in times of need. Capping off a yearlong celebration, the lighting of the Empire State Building on Friday speaks to the important role WXTV Univision 41 has played for a half-century as the Hispanic heartbeat of New York City.

Today, the station continues to fulfill its commitment of informing, empowering and entertaining New York-area Hispanics as the No. 1 Spanish-language broadcast station in New York for nineteen consecutive years in a row in Total Day and Early Local News among Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54.
