Claudia Valdez y Pedro Rodríguez, writers of La Doble Vida de Estela Carrillo

La Doble Vida de Estela Carrillo, produced by Rosy Ocampo, will be launched on Monday, February 13 at 9pm on Las Estrellas. It is an original idea by Claudia Valdez and Pedro Rodríguez, who assured they have been working on this project since 2015, travelling to the US to get a close look at the reality of Mexican migrants and reflect it in this short story.

“It was a long process because we wanted to live the experience up close to the migrants, for them to tell us their real situation, so we could make a story of action and drama. We recently finished writing it and are betting on original contents,” expressed Valdez.

Rodríguez stressed that La Doble Vida de Estela Carrillo is a return to the genre of telenovela: “It is a fiction that has references to reality, including a love story –that isn´t the priority— since we want to highlight the empowered woman. We want to acknowledge migrants and turn our gaze towards them, so they know we value them.”

To end, they expressed their opinion that TV is going through an evolution process, learning new things and offering original proposals.
