One of the top executives of Multicultural TV Marketing, Jackie Gagne, SVP of Multicultural Marketing at WarnerMedia, was interviewed by Joe Schramm, producer of the 19th Annual Hispanic Television Summit and president of Schramm Marketing Group.
They talked about opportunities to attract viewers and subscribers, and how this continues to be the main objective of HBO Max. Gagne mentioned the recent launch of HBO Max Pa’lante!, a socially-focused audience initiative designed to break down barriers and raise awareness of culturally relevant programming on HBO Max for Latinx audiences.
“P’alante is a platform to highlight Latinx stories and talents that are on HBO Max. HBO as a company has a rich history of widening multicultural audiences. HBO Latino was born 20 years ago. P’alante highlights those HBO Latino contents that are on HBO Max to take them to other audiences. It is an initiative with a social focus to raise awareness about Latino content,” she explained.
The goal is to drive more growth and for that, they need to be authentic. “We rely heavily on social media. It’s incredibly important to be authentic at work to reach this audience, that’s what is going to drive connections, people know when you’re insincere,” she said.
