WAPA América reaches over 6 million homes in the U.S.

Alan Sokol, chairman of WAPA América and WAPA TV, spoke with PRODU at the 2012 Upfront about the growth and relevance of the signal WAPA América in the U.S. Hispanic market.“In 2007 WAPA TV ranked third in ratings in Puerto Rico, and now it has been number one since 2009,” said Sokol. Similarly, he spoke about WAPA América, which had about a million subscribers in the U.S. and now is part of every U.S. cable operator’s grid, reaching over 6 million homes.Sokol added that WAPA América “is a valuable resource for the U.S. Hispanic market, and particularly for Puerto Ricans living in this country. We’re the only channel where Puerto Ricans can find news and entertainment from their home, connecting their souls.”He also pointed out that the Website of WAPA TV registers 14 million page views per month, with over 3 million unique users.
