Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS) reached a sales agreement with Voz Media, a Texas conglomerate, for Mega TV, one of its media businesses. The transaction amounts to US$64 million upon completion of the sale. The regulatory body (FCC) still needs to approve the transaction, but at first glance, there are no issues regarding the approval or monopolistic activities.

“I am very proud of these almost two decades of multiple award-winning programs, dedication to the community and other Mega TV’s achievements, a network that successfully forged its position among Hispanic audiences in the US and Puerto Rico,” said Raúl Alarcón, President and CEO of SBS.

Orlando Salazar, the founder of Voz Media, mentioned: “It is an honor for Voz Media to have been selected to continue to keep on the work and tradition that began with Raúl Alarcón and Mega TV in the Spanish-speaking media market. It is a challenge that we take very seriously, and we will seek to increase both the reach and the content of Mega TV, while we continue to entertain and inform Hispanics throughout the US.”
