VIVOplay: We are in 70% of TVs that have set top b installed in the US

Carlos Hulett, president and CEO of VIVOplay, said that with the recent agreements they have consolidated with Apple TV, Roku and soon with Amazon Fire TV, they can state that they are present in 70% of TV sets with installed boxes in the US.

“For us it is truly successful to be on the Amazon platform, that is the second in installed boxes in the US. Roku is the first. We have the best channels in Latin America, with quality that can’t be found in other places like VIVOplay or established cable operators. The encoders are by Elemental, the application that Smartbox from Chile developed for us. That is the back office that is making Blackphone for us, the truth is we have a phenomenal application,” he added.

He highlighted that Hispanic market in the US is the one they see with greatest growth potential, “then there is the market of expatriate Hispanics in LatAm, such as Venezuelans in Colombia, among others. And Spain is also a market with lots of growth potential and it doesn’t have much Hispanic TV.”

He said that the most recent channels and that have best performance on the Hulett platform are NTN24, RCN Novelas, ¡HOLA! TV, Show Business, Latin Angels TV and Atreseries. “With the novela channels -Teleromántica, Azteca Corazón- we have done very well. With the news channel, VIVOplay we have done very well,” he added.

He said the next step is to intensify the market and sales of the platform. He mentioned that the annual and day pass are the most effective plans.
