Besides responding to their audience, another reason for Fox Sports en Español to change its name to Fox Deportes, which will be in effect from October 1st this year, was that this move is more in line with how Fox Sports Media Group Chair & CEO, David Hill, is reorganizing the entire Fox Sports department.With this change we are seeing how to better coordinate our efforts for sports marketing, programming, and brand standpoint. In addition to responding to this, we also felt that the coordination of the various Fox Sports properties, with the name of Fox Deportes will also be better, allowing us to better coordinate our platform properties and cross programming objectives corporately, pointed out Vincent Cordero the Executive VP and General Manager of Fox Sports en Español´s (soon Fox Deportes).Regarding his new post at Fox Sports en Español, Cordero says: I´m genuinely excited and very blessed because I have walked into a phenomenal network with a phenomenal team and a phenomenal partner integrator, the Fox family. For me is continuing, first and foremost, the positive momentum and the positive initiatives that have been undertaken to make this network the number one. In addition to that, we are also looking at what more we can do to further strengthen our relationship to the audience and to further strengthen our position in the market as leader in sports and news.Cordero comments that in the future the network will be looking to acquire new programming rights and looking for new programming partners across the board to solidify their position in the market.
