Andrés Badra, president of Venevisión Media, announced the launch of its Venevisión Play platform, a new digital initiative that adds to its business strategy.
Cisneros Media developed the app to offer the audience on-demand content (with +10 thousand hours of programming) and exclusive programming via streaming.
“Venevisión Play is the first application of a Venezuelan media allowing simulcast transmission (simultaneous) of the channel’s HD signal. This flagship project will allow people to enjoy Venevisión on their mobile device whenever and wherever they want,” said Badra.
In just one month and during its trial period, Venevisión Play exceeded 60,000 downloads. The app has the linear programming of Venevisión, Venevisión Plus, and Novelísima; specific news and sports channels will launch soon; and Miss Venezuela will have a unique space in which special series such as Misses con Propósito. The platform can be seen in Venezuela and globally according to broadcast rights.
Venevisión Play is free to download, does not require any registration for use, and is available in all mobile application stores (Apple Store for iOS and Google Play for Android). In addition to having its web version at venevisionplay.com, it is also available on Roku, Amazon, and Apple TV for smart TV services.
