The organizers of Fiesta Broadway are expecting and attendance of 100 thousand people
UNO Productions, led by Luis Medina, in collaboration with All Access Talent, has acquired the Fiesta Broadway festival in Los Angeles, and its 31st edition is set to take place on Sunday, April 28 (from 11 am to 6 pm), with an expected attendance of 100 thousand people. The event is completely free and open to the public.
Medina told PRODU that after a four-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the event is returning to Los Angeles. “We are excited to bring back the traditional Fiesta Broadway to Los Angeles because it is the gathering of the Latino community, something they feel is truly part of the city. This is made possible thanks to the support of Councilman Kevin De León from the 14th district of Los Angeles, who has allowed us to return after four years of absence,” said Medina.
This year, among the featured artists entertaining Fiesta Broadway, there will be the rocker Álex Lora, the iconic leader and vocalist of the legendary band El Tri – considered the Mexican Rolling Stone – who has been designated Grand Marshal of the festival, and the singer Pablo Montero. There will also be a Mexican wrestling zone, an area dedicated to children’s games, and kiosks offering Mexican and Central American cuisine, which are the most popular on the West Coast of the US. Medina pointed out that there will also be a sports element, and he added that they already have a significant group of sponsors secured for the festival.
Fiesta Broadway also has various partnerships, including with the Anglo group of Audacy stations, the SBS radio stations La Raza and La Mega in Los Angeles, and the Los Angeles Times newspaper, and they are in talks with a TV group for the event’s broadcast.
To conclude, Medina emphasized that Fiesta Broadway takes over a year of preparation to coordinate with the various areas involved in organizing a show of this magnitude: local authorities, security entities, sponsors, media, production, and talent, among others. Before COVID-19, Fiesta Broadway attracted over a million people, and up to 36 streets were closed. This time, it’s only five streets, as allowed by local authorities at the moment. “There is a lot of spirit and joy because this event is returning.”
