Univision Digital announced the launch of Alejandra La De Tijuana (5×7’), a new web series that follows TV personality Alejandra Espinoza, host of season two of La Banda, in a journey to her hometown of Tijuana, Mexico.
The inspirational story narrated by Espinoza premieres on Friday, September 9 on {LaBandaOficial.com}.
In the five-part web series, Espinoza shares her childhood memoirs and tells the story of how her family emerged from poverty, insecurity and social inequality.
Espinoza is one of the most important Hispanic television personalities and beloved faces of Univision.
“Alejandra La De Tijuana is a great extension of La Banda and will indulge fans across multiple platforms with her compelling, first-hand story about her humble beginnings in Mexico. We’re thrilled to create original digital content that complements our television programming and appeals to our millennial audience, and that provides them with another touch point to connect with their favorite stars,” said Emilio Aliaga, VP of Digital Content at Univision.
Univision’s digital team traveled to her hometown of Tijuana, Mexico to exclusively film the episodes in which Espinoza reunites with her past, walks the streets where she grew up and visits the house she lived in before moving to the U.S. in search of a better life. The web series producers include Solangelee Molina, Javier Cruz, Christian Charles and Gisela González.
