Univision Deportes to honor the best of Liga MX at Balón de Oro 2018

Univision Deportes will honor the top players in Liga MX, the most-watched soccer league in the United States, in star-studded awards show Balón de Oro 2018.

The event will be broadcast live from Los Angeles on Saturday, July 14 at 9pm ET on Univision and Univision Deportes Network. Argelia Atilano, co-host of Univision Radio’s El Show de Omar y Argelia and Alan Tacher, co-host of Despierta América, will present the ceremony.

The show will feature live musical performances by Ana Bárbara, Bronco, Chiquis Rivera, Paulina Rubio and Joe Santana, while Abraham Muñoz, “Soccerman” will try to set a world record to the rhythm of Daddy Yankee’s hit song Dura.

Univision Deportes will also present the story of Leonardo Farías, the 8-year-old boy who survived the Mexican earthquake after being trapped under the debris for hours, and how Miguel “el Piojo” Herrera (América’s manager), Oribe Peralta and Alejandro “El Güero” Díaz (América’s players) surprised him.

Balón de Oro 2018” recognizes the top players from last season, Apertura 2017 and Clausura 2018, and their achievements.
