Ultra Clásico pays posthumous tribute to America’s SweetheartLibertad Lamarque

To celebrate the life, work and legacy of one of Latin America’s most beloved superstars, Ultra Clásico will feature a posthumous tribute to the Argentine actress and singer Libertad Lamarque (1908 – 2000).

The homage to the masterful work of Libertad Lamarque, will take place on Sunday, December 4, 2016, at 8pm EST. The tribute will comprise of two of her most successful Mexican films: Canción del Alma (1964) – featuring the talented Lola Beltrán, and La Mujer X (1955) – directed by the acclaimed Mexican filmmaker Julián Soler.

“Libertad Lamarque’s illustrious career ranged from the early days of Tango in Argentina to the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema and contemporary telenovelas. She became a pop culture sensation; her incredible talent and larger-than-life performances will be remembered forever,” stated Jesús Piñango, director of TV Content Strategy at Olympusat.

Known by fans everywhere as La Novia de América (America’s Sweetheart), Libertad Lamarque starred in over 65 films in Argentina and Mexico, making her one of the leading figures in Latin American cinema.
