The opening of Conecta Fiction 2018 was held with the launch of the web series Limbo, a co-production between Argentina and Spain, for PlayZ, RTVE’s free digital content platform. The selection of this format for the beginning of this important forum somehow marks the shift that is happening in the industry for which Televisora Española is getting ready.
“We have a new digital platform called PlayZ, very innovative, that is a digital consumption and production pilot experiment and that in the future must align with linear and be a great content window. PlayZ is looking for content for youth, who consume in a different way and want another product, but in the end, everything is going to converge into digital, that is the future we have here next door,” said Eladio Jareño, director of TVE.
Jareño highlighted the quality of Conecta Fiction’s audience, which has gathered more than 500 representatives of the industry, to present this -series. “Conecta Fiction and Galicia is the adequate context for a Latin American co-production forum. Here, there is a magnificent agenda, and a number of professionals, so we are very interested in this market.”
Limbo was co-produced by Cruz del Sur Cine and Aquí y Allá Films. The eight-episode series (seven minutes each) can be seen starting Monday, June 25 on PlayZ.
