TV+ is the name that, since November 21, was adopted by UCV TV, the longest lasting TV station in Chile, with a path of more than 61 years.
In August 2017, Media 23 SpA bought 90% of the channel and implemented the technical modernization and digitalization of the processes and the transfer of operations to Santiago. Likewise, the began producing original programs (such as MILF, Mamá al Cien, and Bar de Chicas) and bought international productions (Love Nature 4K, La Historia de Dios with Morgan Freeman, Águila Roja, Pasión Toscana, El Precio de la Historia, among others).
In the context of the launch of TV+, its General Manager, Fernando Gualda, analyzed the excellent moment the industry is going through, both globally and locally. “Television is going through its best moment. Since we took control of the channel in August 2017, we have confirmed that the Chilean audience continues to increase year after year the minutes they spend in front of a TV audience (5:25 hours/day growing 23% in the last 8 years), and one of the main reasons why they watch TV is the need to find entertainment.”
He added that “the scope that television has in Chile and the world as a means of communication is irreplaceable by any other media.”
The philosophy that defined the change to TV+ was that of a dynamic channel, with a fresh look and colors, that maintains the DNA and history of the signal but wrapped in evolution and novelty.
