Tom Maney, senior VP of Advertising Sales at Fox Hispanic Media, emphasized to PRODU that although the programming for the new network MundoFox will be 100% in Spanish, the company hopes to attract the bilingual Hispanic market. In light of that, they are inviting advertisers to air advertising in either English or Spanish. “If you take a program and put a little English and a little Spanish in it, what you usually get is really low quality programming. What we’re going to do is produce the highest quality program in Spanish, and we feel that will attract that bilingual audience” Maney expressed. “From that, we feel the advertisers should have an option to advertise their message in whatever language they feel is right for communicating to their consumer”. He reiterated that from the company’s focus groups across the country, they learned that Latinos are looking for the highest quality content, and it became their goal to deliver it.“That’s what we feel is our strength. We’re not just importing content from Mexico, we’re producing content that is relevant to the lifestyle of the U.S. Hispanic” he added.
