THEMA America launched the Mezzo Live HD signal on Claro Brazil in March and “in these few months we have been very pleased with the welcoming and acceptance received by the Brazilian audience,” said Patrick Rivet, CEO of THEMA America. “Our goal is to continue working closely with our business partners in the region, large and small operators throughout Latin America, to bring the magnificent content of Mezzo Live HD to many more countries.”
Mezzo’s offer “is unique and exclusive” due to its annual alliance with great musicians and musical institutions, orchestras, festivals, and ballet companies around the world. “What distinguishes Mezzo Live HD is that it is free of ads, which allows the audience to enjoy the content without interruption. This offers an immersive experience for viewers, who love this type of show as if they were in person at the event location,” Rivet said.
They offer varied and international content, “which resonates with all types of audiences in Latin America,” said Rivet.
Mezzo Live HD has been filming music concerts by Heitor Villa-Lobos, Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, and Hermeto Pascoal for Brazil, and is in talks with the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra (OSESP) for future collaborations. This month the offers include presentations by Latin American musicians and talents, such as the Malta Jazz Festival, with the participation of Cuban jazz player Chucho Valdés, and the group Osmosis, a quintet founded by the Uruguayan pianist, arranger, and composer, Nacho Labrada. It has also included a live concert by the Montréal Symphony, with the renowned Venezuelan director, Rafael Payares.
