The Cable Show 2012 presents challenges and opportunities to the industry

June 2, 2012

About 12,000 attended The Cable Show at the Boston Convention & Exposition Center

The 61st edition of The Cable Show in Boston, organized by the National Cable & Telecommunications Association, yielded significant participation from the cable and paid TV industries of Latin America. The Cable Show 2012 saw about 12,000 attendees at the Boston Convention & Exposition Center, a fall of 8% from last year’s event in Chicago. Next year, the show is to be held in Washington D.C. from June 10 to 12. This year, delegates from paid TV operators in Argetina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Dominican Republic and Venezuela gathered with the intention of bettering the quality of their content and technologies. Providers and operators alike came together to examine the possibility, and the necessity, of reaching subscribers via the multiple platforms being used today by consumers. This represents a major challenge and yet a major opportunity for businesses to grow.
