Televisión Dominicana has reached a multi-year agreement with the Dominican Professional Baseball Winter League (LIDOM, for its Spanish acronym) to air games on the network. Beginning in October, viewers will be able to enjoy up to seven games per week. The 2018-2019 regular season will run through December, with playoffs beginning in January.

Televisión Dominicana has exclusive U.S. television rights to the home games of Las Estrellas Orientales, Los Gigantes del Cibao, Los Leones del Escogido, and Los Toros del Este, which will include the regular season and playoff games.

“In the U.S., baseball is America’s pastime, but in the Dominican Republic, it is a way of life. Not only is it the number one sport in the country, it has also created some of the greatest baseball players to ever play the game, making the DR a baseball powerhouse. Renewing our rights to LIDOM allows us to continue to fulfill our promise to provide our audience with the best sports and entertainment programming from their home country, allowing them to stay connected to their culture,” said Francisco Giménez, SVP and general manager of Cable Networks of Hemisphere Media Group, Inc.
