TelevisaUnivision premiered on Saturday the 18th in Mexico and in the US on Sunday the 19th the second season of the late-night show De Noche Pero sin Sueño, hosted by Adrián Uribe. Its producer Miguel Ángel Fox mentioned that this new delivery has better visual quality, new dynamics, and the incorporation of a minishow with the character of El Vítor, performed by Uribe himself.
“We focused on how to make this second season more successful in both territories, we had to make some adjustments until we felt professionally satisfied because what we are doing has an international standard, we made important changes between seasons,” Fox said.
Uribe explained that for this new installment, he prepared even more by watching other similar formats, not only from the US, but also from Central and South America, and Spain. This not only gave him more confidence in hosting the show but also together with the production team led by Fox, more comedy ingredients; in addition to sketches with the guests and new characters. “We did not repeat any of the dynamics of the previous season, and to close the show we included the space ‘De Noche con El Vítor’, which is a mini late-night show hosted by El Vítor, where he asks tougher, bawdy, and funny questions, and we will also have more musicals than the previous season.”
Fox added that in the US they are experts in this type of format, so they seek to be at that level among the Latino audience. “For it to work, I’m not so much about formulas, it’s just trying to have harmony and style in comedy. Adrián is a perfectionist and it is this combination that makes it work in both territories.”
Uribe said that this is a program that was needed in Mexico, that offers space and promotion for personalities who have something to tell.
The premiere of the second season featured Maluma as the main guest, who was one of a list of figures that will be part of its eight episodes that will also include Ricardo Montaner, Prince Royce, Natalia Jiménez, Carlos Rivera, and Pepe Aguilar.
Fox announced that in June they will be recording eight new shows for a third season.
