TelevisaUnivision premiered its new comedy show El príncipe del barrio, under the production of Rosa María Noguerón, who assured that the 14-episode series reflects Mexicans everyday’s lives through key characters, starring Ariel Miramontes, Violeta Isfel, Cecilia Galliano, Juan Soler, and Alma Cero. It will be broadcast every Sunday at 7:30 pm on Las Estrellas.
“We address situations between mother and son, between couples, friends. Most of the recordings are made in the studio and a couple of episodes are on location, where the main challenge is the weather, despite having great scripts, actors, and great production, so many years doing TV allow us to overcome this,” she explained.
Noguerón highlighted that TelevisaUnivision has promoted comedy internationally. “It has given us opportunities to work and explore, achieving very solid comedy on Mexican TV. We are doing our part so that the door of comedy continues to open in Mexico.”
The plot of El Príncipe del Barrio takes place in Mexico City in the ‘Lomas de Chacaltepec’ neighborhood, where Albertano is forced to move. In this peculiar neighborhood, everyone struggles to find love, fame, and fortune, without trying too hard, but yes, with a great attitude.
The producer of La Casa de los Famosos also spoke about the success of this reality show, assuring that the intention is to bring a good project to the public, “so people get lost with us in the content and that they trust that we are taking care of the project.” And announced that the last show will take place on August 13; however, she left open the possibility of having guests.
