Televisa started studio recordings of its new telenovela Muchacha Italiana Viene A Casarse (160×60′), the remake of the Argentinean story by the same name produced in 1969. It now stars Livia Brito and José Ron, and is produced by Pedro Damián, who says the story will have a strong footprint on digital and second screen. It premieres October 20th at 4:20pm.The first scenes on location were shot in Maratea, Italy. Alessandro Bussaca, Ambassador to Italy in Mexico said it is a good way to strengthen cultural and media relationships. “We’re pleased and confident we will do more in the future,” he added.Damián said the story will not deviate from the original plot, but is adapted to fit today’s environment. He also said there would be a large footprint on social media, and all digital platforms, including the second screen, “which is growing and Televisa has been quick to embrace. We must have a presence there.”In addition to Italy, the production will shoot on location in Querétaro and Mexico City.
