Rosy Ocampo returns to producing with Rompiendo el Silencio, an original telenovela made by Televisa in alliance with Population Media Center, an NGO dedicated to making entertainment with a cause. Their contents include the series East Los High by Hulu.
“I am truly thrilled. Rompiendo el Silencio is a 40-episode, one hour each, telenovela that tells the story of four women of different ages. They are exposed to male chauvinism, stalking, teenage pregnancy. This is an entirely original story we are working on with the same team of writers of Por Ella Soy Eva, Qué Pobres Tan Ricos and La Doble Vida de Estela Carrillo, always bearing in mind our audience. We want people to have fun and to give them positive messages,” stated Ocampo.
Regarding the partnership with the Population Media Center, the interest was mutual: “With La Doble Vida de Estela Carrillo we did research on the US Hispanic market in depth and realized the impact East Los High from Hulu had caused in each city. In parallel, they sought us, being Televisa a screen for millions, not only in Mexico, but also in the US and other territories. I am dedicated to this production that implies a different work system. Here we gathered the best of Televisa and of Population Media Center to offer the audience the best product”.
Rompiendo el Silencio starts shootings on July 1 and will be launched on October 7 at 6:30pm on Las Estrellas. It will be shot 80% in locations in Mexico City and its surroundings and it has a great team of professionals, including technicians, directors and production designers who will guarantee the quality of the product, as well as high production values, mentioned Ocampo. Pedro Armando Rodríguez leads the writers team.
