Televisa: Our challenge is steering the industry towards new ways of content consumption

After the announcement of the exclusive alliance with Spotify, Ricardo Cortina, general director of Operations of Televisa Interactive Media, spoke to PRODU regarding his division’s goal to continue forging alliances that complement its multi-platform offer, noting that the challenge is steering the industry towards new ways of content consumption.“The way content is consumed is changing and our challenge is to change an industry structure that has been in place for a long time towards these new kinds of consumption. We’ll continue to seek leading players in each category, and we’ll work with any company that complements our offer,” said Cortina.He said that Televisa is a multi-platform company: “We must capitalize on what we have because no other company can measure up to us in the multi-screen arena. Video consumption is high, therefore, alliances with producers of content that is different, even if it’s not premium –but popular online-, adds to our strategy and allows us to satisfy the demand for video.”
