Rosy Ocampo, Executive Producer, and showrunner of Televisa said on #PRODUprimetime with Ríchard Izarra her vision about open TV and melodrama, as well as about the impulse they currently have. “Telenovela is going to continue reviving today more than ever”. She gave examples such as the new version of Rubí, that reached record ratings in Las Estrellas´ primetime, as well as Destilando Amor, a product with more than ten years, which in its relay remains in the first place”.
“As for topics, there are many, but those of us who do telenovelas tell love stories. In LatAm, fiction is linked to melodrama that continues and will continue to be king. In this moment of such uncertainty, it is a mirror of everyday life, but it presents us the promise of a better tomorrow,” she assured.
Ocampo spoke of her experience in the new production normality and celebrated the measures Televisa has taken, assuring that the protocols are part of everyday life. She also highlighted that they have tapped into tools like Zoom to transfer to digital some production processes, achieving efficient results. “The pandemic has changed our production paradigms and has led us to think outside the box”.
The same as with Vencer el Desamor, which they are currently shooting, Ocampo reiterated that her commitment as a producer was to make entertainment products that contribute value to society.
