Juan Ponce, SVP and General Manager of Telemundo Streaming Studios, indicated that working under Comcast’s financial engine is a great advantage when dealing with the high budgets of their productions, not only in Spanish but also for the content in English they are creating for the Anglo public and market.
Ponce was at MIP Cancun screening their content together with Pablo Culell and Lara Tamalas, both from his Development and Production team.
“We have the equipment and the capacity to produce high-quality content on a global scale. With the financial help of Comcast we can make entertainment for our Latin American market, US Hispanic market, US in English, and for the whole world,” said Ponce.
Cullel reported that TSS, which is also making content for streaming, after the acquisition of Underground is focusing on more bold and aggressive productions with striking themes that entertain the new generations.
“We are focusing on projects like El Marginal, with powerful stories that go beyond what our industry networks have been usually producing in recent decades. Since NBCUniversal Telemundo acquired Underground, you can appreciate the improvement of the production quality in most of the recent seasons,” said Cullel.
