Telemundo: Over 40 hosts, commentators, and reporters form the largest team for Paris 2024 coverage

Telemundo announces the most extensive talent lineup to date to cover the XXXIII Olympic Games in Paris. Comprised of over 40 hosts, commentators, and a team of reporters in France, this team will start coverage two days before the opening ceremony with the men’s soccer competition on July 24 and continue until August 11 on Telemundo, Universo, and Peacock.

“We are proud to present the largest and most diverse list of commentators in the network’s history, marking Telemundo’s most significant commitment to Olympic coverage. We have assembled an exceptional team of commentators representing various countries and disciplines important to Latino audiences to provide the most comprehensive and engaging coverage of Paris 2024,” said Eli Velázquez, Executive VP of Sports at Telemundo.

The programming includes the return of many of the network’s familiar hosts, commentators, analysts, and Olympic athletes, along with fresh voices. In addition to offering Olympic experience in different disciplines, the diverse and talented group joining Telemundo Deportes’ production will also represent many Latin American countries participating in Paris 2024.

OLYMPIC ATHLETES ON THE TELEMUNDO TEAM

Among the Olympic athletes on the Telemundo Team: Manuel Sol, former midfielder who represented Mexico in the 1996 Summer Olympics; Isabella Echeverri, former midfielder of the Colombian National Team in Rio 2016; Isabella Arcila, professional swimmer who represented Colombia in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020; Walter Herrmann, member of the Argentine basketball team and Olympic gold medalist in basketball in 2004; Danell Leyva, Cuban-American gymnast and two-time Olympic medalist; and Abner Mares, Mexican-American professional boxer who represented Mexico in Athens 2004.

The hosts will be Miguel Gurwitz, Jessica Carrillo, Carlota Vizmanos, and Copan Álvarez.

During the opening ceremony, Julio Vaqueiro, the host of Noticias Telemundo, will broadcast the evening news live from Paris. Jessi Losada returns to Telemundo to celebrate the network’s twentieth anniversary covering the Olympic Games.

Verónica Rodríguez and Freddy Lomeli will host Telemundo’s Olympic Late Night Show.

SOCCER COMMENTATORS

The soccer commentators in Paris will be Andrés Cantor, Natalia Astrain, Manuel Sol, and Carlos Yustis. Bilingual journalist Carmen Boquín will be active on social media.

Additionally, for soccer, the commentators will be Maxi Rodríguez, Sammy Sadovnik, Jorge Calvo, Isabella Echeverri, Diana Rincón, Diego Pessolano, Walter Roque, Luis Bucci, Jaime Macías, and Carlos Ramirez.

There will be another group of commentators for disciplines such as volleyball, swimming, boxing, athletics, and other sports.

Telemundo and Universo will present over 315 hours of live competition coverage and special daily summaries in Spanish. Most days, the network will offer at least six hours of daytime coverage of the Summer Games and up to 12 hours of programming on soccer days.

Additionally, Telemundo will present a two-hour highlight show featuring the best Olympic stories of the day, every weekday at midnight from Friday, July 26, until Sunday, August 11.
