Romina Rosado, EVP of Hispanic Streaming at Telemundo, announced that next Wednesday 19 will be the launch of the FAST channel, Telemundo Deportes, just in time for the kick-off of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 which will be broadcast live by Telemundo, Universo, the Telemundo app and Peacock.
“This answers to the fans’ desire for 24/7 sports and soccer content,” Rosado pointed out.
Eli Velázquez, Executive VP of Sports at Telemundo, pointed out that all original content that the company is producing around the Women’s World Cup will also be included on the FAST channel in a long format.
Rosado recalled that 40% of viewing for the FIFA World Cup 2022 on NBCUniversal came from streaming.
At its launch, Telemundo Deportes will be available on Peacock, Freevee, Samsung TV Plus, and Xumo Play.
