Telemundo Internacional appoints HBO Latin America Group for distribution of its pay TV channel

Telemundo Internacional announced the appointment of HBO Latin America Group to exclusively handle affiliate sales for its pay TV channel, Telemundo Internacional, in Latin America, excluding Mexico and Brazil.”This partnership promises to further the growth and penetration that Telemundo Internacional has already achieved since its launch. Telemundo Internacional is bound to become the most watched channel in the region, offering unique and relevant content developed for Hispanics in the United States and audiences around the world,” said Marcos Santana, president of Telemundo Internacional.“We are very pleased to have forged this strategic partnership with Telemundo Internacional and believe that its channel will be a valuable complement to our lineup. We look forward to significantly expanding the reach of the channel throughout the region, offering to subscribers an additional source of entertainment,” added Emilio Rubio, president of Distribution for HBO Latin America Group.The appointment, effective as of this month, adds Telemundo Internacional to HBO’s basic channel lineup in the region. In addition to handling the sales of the channel to cable operators, HBO will also develop and distribute the channel’s new media platforms and manage the marketing strategy with its affiliates.
