Telemundo Global Studios announced new leadership functions to further enhance its position as the largest producer of scripted Spanish-language content in the U.S.
“This team of industry power players will propel our vision forward and continue to transform Telemundo as the preferred network for innovative and cutting-edge content,” said Marcos Santana, president of Telemundo Global Studios.
Appointments and promotions include:
Fabrizio Alcobe is promoted to the newly created position of SVP, Talent, Telemundo Global Studios; Fernando Gastón is named VP of Productions and Development, Pilots, where he will oversee the production of the Studios’ pilots for long scripted formats; Jorge Giraldo joins as Producer, reporting to Santana with oversight of the Studios productions in Colombia; Marcel Ferrer joins as producer, reporting to Mariana Iskandarani, VP, Production, with oversight of the Studios productions in Mexico; Alejandra Serna is promoted to SVP of Production Management & Operations, Telemundo Global Studios; Luis Zelkovich is promoted to Sr. Supervisor of 10pm productions and Sergio Mendoza is promoted to Sr. Director of Scripted Development for 8pm and 9pm.
As part of the moves, Ricardo Coeto, EVP of Production, will leave the company and remain as a creative advisor for scripted projects for Telemundo Global Studios to help through a transition period.
The remainder of the Executive team will stay the same, including Perla Farías, Head Writer; Miguel Varoni, VP and creative director; Ignacio Barrera, SVP, Sales and Business Development, Telemundo Global Studios, who will continue to be responsible for sales and new business development for both Telemundo Internacional and Telemundo Global Studios, and oversee the Product Integration team; and Juan Marco Blanco, VP of Development, Telemundo Global Studios, who will continue to be responsible for Development with a focus on building Telemundo Global Studios’ 10pm Super Series.
The leadership team will report to Santana and will be based at the new state-of-the-art Telemundo Center in Miami.
