As part of Telemundo’s ongoing commitment to building an entire industry for the future and providing hundreds of jobs to U.S. Hispanics, Telemundo Studios kicked off Taller de Actores Telemundo (Telemundo Acting Workshop), an innovative acting workshop designed to identify and train the young cast members of its upcoming original production Físico o Química.Over six hundred young actors and actresses showed up at Telemundo Studios on the first open cast call of which 120 were selected for the next round. On a second casting session, 43 actors and actresses from California, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Arizona, Puerto, Mexico, and Venezuela were selected to participate in the six-week intense program. “Like most of Telemundo’s original novelas, Físico o Química is based and reflects the US Hispanic experience. Most of these young actors came to us with their dreams and we hope to make them come true,” said Aurelio Valcárcel, EVP, Telemundo Studios. “With this workshop, we’re not only looking for qualified talent for this particular novela, but also for young talent we can cast in all our future productions,” added Roberto Stopello, VP Novela Development at Telemundo Studios.
