Telemundo Deportes released initial details of its 2019 Copa America coverage plans. As the exclusive Spanish-language home of the tournament taking place in Brazil June 14-July 7, Telemundo Deportes will present all 26 matches live in Spanish on Telemundo, Universo, and Telemundo Deportes’ app and digital platforms.
“Telemundo Deportes’ ‘Summer of Soccer’ continues to take shape as last Thursday we learned the group stage lineup for the Copa America 2019,” commented Ray Warren, president of Telemundo Deportes. “As the home of the Biggest, Best Global Sports, we are looking forward to showcasing the best of Conmebol and South American soccer combined with our extensive multi-platform coverage of FIFA Women’s World Cup which takes place across the same dates and in different time zones. Our fans will be able to immerse themselves in soccer from morning until night. Over the course of one month we will be providing extensive coverage from two continents, presenting 78 matches during the day and in the evening, and starring 36 teams with the best players in the world.”
Mexican soccer legend, Carlos Hermosillo, and sports journalist, Miguel Gurwitz, team up to lead the coverage of Copa America 2019 live from Brazil. In addition, the network’s soccer experts Andres Cantor, Sammy Sadovnik, Copan Alvarez, Eduardo Biscayart, Manuel Sol and Karim Mendiburu will participate in the coverage, offering live commentary and analysis.
To complement the live action coverage Telemundo Deportes’ broadcast will feature analysis and preview prior to kickoff of each and every match. The day will wrap up with a special, extended 60-minute edition of “Titulares y Más,” Telemundo’s late-night sports and entertainment show that will air in its extended format throughout the duration of the tournament.
On the digital front, all 26 matches, in addition to the pre-game programming, will stream live via the Telemundo Deportes app. Telemundo Deportes’ digital platforms will also complement the television coverage with additional, exclusive short- and long-form content.
