Telemundo 47 New York/ WNJU announced the addition of two more journalists to its growing news roster. Cristian Benavides and Luis Gerardo Núñez have been named Reporters for Noticiero Telemundo 47 at 5:30pm, 6pm and 11pm. Benavides and Núñez will work alongside News Anchors Jorge Ramos and Yaima Crespo, Sports Anchor Veronica Contreras and Meteorologist Pedro Montoro. Benavides and Núñez will make their on-air debut in early February. “Cristian and Luis are hard-hitting news reporters. They dig beneath the surface and ask hard questions. I am very happy that theyre part of our team and excited for our viewers to receive their outstanding storytelling and work”, said Karen Mendez, VP of News, Telemundo 47. Benavides, who has been a part of the Telemundo family since 2014, joins Telemundo 47 from sister station Telemundo Phoenix / KTAZ, where he worked as a reporter for the stations local weekday newscasts. With vast experience working in the third and fifth-largest Hispanic markets in the country, Núñez joins Telemundo 47 after working as a reporter for Telemundo 39 Dallas-Fort Worth / KXTX and Telemundo 51 Miami / WSCV since 2013.
