Ana Bond, SVP and general director of International Production for Latin America and the Hispanic US at Sony Pictures Television (SPT), highlighted the important link between Latin America and Spain and the feedback between both markets during the Iberseries Platino Industria event.
“Our audience is used to and familiarized with the Spanish product and there is a great response for the talent and stories from that country, and there are more and more Latin American products in Spain,” she pointed out.
She highlighted that market and the company has evolved with productions that travel and premium content: movies for TV, quality series, and with a global imprint.
“We continue to make local products for open TV because we feel that there is still a viable business model and an audience interested in this type of product. However, we have seen a growth of opportunities in other types of content: shorter series or miniseries. We see opportunities to open up to other types of projects and to other types of genres,” she said.
They are currently focused on finding and developing projects with the best creators in Latin America. She mentioned Guillermo Arriaga, Diana Bustamante and Hernán Musaluppi, among others.
