Sony Pictures Television announces pan-regional deals with TBS LatAm and DLA to bring teleseries Señorita Pólvora to LatAm

Sony Pictures Television announced that it has secured key subscription linear and subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) deals that will bring its new teleseries {Señorita Pólvora;www.produ.com/television/videos/index.html?Noti=8660} to Latin American audiences in as many as 42 territories across Latin America, including Brazil. Turner Broadcasting System Latin America has acquired the exclusive, first-run subscription TV rights to Señorita Pólvora. The series is slated to premiere on TNT in early 2015, marking the first time in Latin America that viewers will be able to experience the teleseries.In addition, DLA has secured the SVOD rights to Señorita Pólvora for Clarovideo, with episodes available on the streaming platform just days after their TNT premiere.“As premium content continues to drive viewership across the region, we believe there are great opportunities to work with multiple platforms like TNT and Claro video to bring series like Señorita Pólvora to the largest possible audience,” says Álex Marín, senior vice president, Distribution, Latin America & US Hispanic for Sony Pictures Television.“Señorita Pólvora is a great acquisition for us as it is consistent with our strategy to incorporate local content on channels to further engage Latin American viewers,” says Ángel Zambrano, VP of Acquisitions and Syndication at Turner Broadcasting System Latin America. “The addition of Señorita Pólvora and other productions with Latin American themes and characters into Clarovideo’s platform allows us to offer our subscribers varied, attractive and highly differentiated programming that combines acclaimed international series and movies with the best content produced in our region,” commented Pablo Iacoviello, VP for Acquisitions at DLA, the company that administers the Clarovideo platform.Señorita Pólvora, Sony Pictures Television’s first co-production with Televisa, is inspired by the real life story of a beauty queen whose alleged connections to the underworld and a romantic affair with an assassin ultimately led to her untimely demise.
