Somos Distribution signs exclusive agreement with Turkish network Kanal D

Somos Distribution, headed by Luis Villanueva, is strengthening its catalogue by adding more Turkish soap operas. The distribution company signed an agreement with Kanal D to exclusively distribute Gumus (200×45’), Mercy and The Outsiders in Latin America and U.S. Hispanic. Francisco Villanueva COO and Vice-president of the company, stated that “The interest for Turkish soap operas is growing tremendously and we are getting a lot of business proposals”.Gumus is Kanal D’s most important soap opera, it has become a phenomenon across the Arab world, reaching an audience of 85 million viewers at its peak and kindling a demand for Turkish content.Mercy is about a true hero who has overcome the blows dealt by her mean family and the big city. Her story starts in a small village but ends in Istanbul. Narin has had to overcome many difficulties to come to the big city, but once she is there, her luck begins to turn. The Outsiders is about four friends that face life struggles, heart wrenching disappointments and pursuits of hope, and their only goal is to escape the neighborhood and build themselves proper lives. Somos Distribution keeps adding great content to its catalogue, and is looking forward to distributing Kanal D’s Turkish Dramas in Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic.
