Juan Camilo Pinzón, director and showrunner with vast experience in the industry and Head of Development of Scripted & Non-scripted Content for Sevenwest Media House – an audiovisual company based in the US -, reported that since the beginning of this year, he has been developing two feature films and four series and that it hopes to start production on at least one of the films by the end of 2023.
“Shy, one of our two feature films, is a co-production between Spain and CDMX, a dramedy that we should start recording at the end of this year. A beautiful movie, with love and comedy, the style of movies we want to make, not those dealing with drug trafficking or anything like that,” said Pinzón.
They want to make stories that travel, that can reach not only Latin America, but all over the world, with their windows distribution beginning with movie theaters.
The second film, Malabar, began development and pre-production in early 2023. “This feature film is a black comedy, a timeless political satire. We want to produce a part in the US, the rest in locations such as Costa Rica or the Dominican Republic, we are still pondering that.”
Pinzón mentioned that they are also working on projects in Colombia, but he feels that it is not a territory where the big platforms are looking for a greater amount of content.
