Sergio Pizzolante, president of Commercial and international Distribution of Secuoya Studios, said he was happy with the acceptance and performance of El Zorro after its presentation at the opening of Mipcom.
“Opening a Mipcom has great meaning, and going from channel executive to production and seeing one’s project on the big screen is a good ‘character arc,’ as we say in our business,” he said in a conversation with Ríchard Izarra.
For Pizzolante, making this product was a great responsibility due to its close relationship with the audience. So, it needed to be in Spanish and with a large budget.
Zorro will have a global premiere for Latin America, the US, and Spain on Prime Video in the first half of 2024. Several European markets, such as Hungary, Italy, Russia, and the entire Eastern European bloc, have acquired the series, and they hope to add Germany soon.
Regarding other Secuoya Studios projects, he highlighted they are preparing the series Brave and Beautiful, co-produced with the Turking production company, Ay Yapim. They just presented the format La Caza, which they hope will have strong international sales. In fiction, he pointed out that they have three projects in pre-production that will go into production in the first quarter of 2024.
