Rubicon Global Media co-founders Chris Albrecht and Jorge Granier attended Content Americas. Both executives, with long experience in the industry, created the company to create stories with value and to unite cultures that connect audiences.
At the event, they presented Obsesión, a six-episode docuseries about the story of telenovelas. “It is a theme and a genre of television that I grew up with, then I had the opportunity to work on telenovelas, adapt it in the US, and distribute the format in more than 17 countries worldwide,” said Granier.
Rolando Loewenstein and Johnny Pulido are producing the project, and Ricardo Hernández Anzola is the script director. “They all have a great experience in the telenovela genre. It tells the story from its humble beginnings in radio formats, its evolution to television, and how it became strong and grew globally to over 120 territories, dubbed in 40 languages, how it came to Hollywood and was adapted in formats such as Ugly Betty and Jane the Virgin.”
In addition, they have several projects, one is the story of Eladio Carrión, the Puerto Rican rapper.
