La Corporación Radio Television Española, RTVE, and Camment, the artificial intelligence powered engagement platform, have signed a commercial deal in order to engage viewers in one of the most watched non-sporting events in the world: Eurovision Song Contest.

RTVE will use the Camment karaoke singing “bot” that allows viewers to compete and sing against each other during the live broadcast in May.

“Second screen apps are taking attention away from the actual events, with Camment in-screen technology the broadcasters take ownership of their products and the data it collects,” explained Tomi Kaukinen, Camment CEO and founder. “Since our technology is implemented inside the broadcasters own platforms there is no hassle with downloads, it’s simply tap and go.”

Javier Gomez Fernandez, deputy director Innovation & Strategy of RTVE added, “following the success of Operación Triunfo, the Spanish qualifier to Eurovision, capitalising on the buzz was a natural step. Camment provided a tool to satisfy the needs of our audience and the contest will be an interactive one for the Spanish viewers.”
