RTVE chose Colombia to be the first country in the region where their children’s channel Clan can be seen. Since July, it has been available for Movistar TV clients. “Colombia is a strategic market for RTVE, with huge growth potential, since it is one of the most dynamic countries in Latin America. Our intention is to share the best of the programming and values of our channel,” expressed María Jesús Pérez, Channel Sales manager at RTVE.
Pérez states that the channel did very well in its first month in the country. “We’ve done amazingly well. Additionally, the fact of launching with a huge client like Telefónica, both in its DTH as in Movistar Play has given the channel great visibility, thanks to the operator’s coverage. On the other hand, they are holding marketing actions in shopping centers and sales points throughout the country to position the brand in the territory.”
Clan in America has Clan’s best and most recent hits in Spain, which includes their own productions and co-productions, as well as the purchase of Spanish contents that are adequate for the region profile.
Even though Colombia is the first country in Latin America in which RTVE’s channel can be seen, the company mentioned it is already in advanced negotiations with other operators. “We have pre-agreements with important clients in America (the US and Latin America) and with other operators for the incorporation of the channel in their offers. The HD signal is also available since August 1, on our top distributor in America.”
