In an event held in Buenos Aires, Roku showed its new range of streaming reproducers that consist of three models that turn the tv set into a smart TV.
They also announced the incorporation of HBO Go. This will allow having access to thousands of titles.
“With Roku we are expanding the scope of key audiences in the region,” said Dionne Bermúdez, Digital Distribution and Business Research for HBO Latin America.
As for the new products from Roku, Alex Dalesio, Sales Director for Latin America at Roku, mentioned: the Roku Express, which offers HD streaming, Roku Premiere that incorporates streaming in 4K, with HDR and Roku Streaming Stick+ offers portable streaming and with a far-reaching wireless connection.
Currently, all the Roku devices offer access to more than 100,000 films, series and TV programs, including live news and sports, through free or pay services.
Dalesio reported that content distribution is growing 70% every year and that they are currently distributing 9.4 million hours and have 30.5 million users worldwide.
“The change in media consumption is a reality and that users are not consuming as much content on TV and prefer to watch what they want when they want to, is, too,” said Dalesio.
He added that Roku has a platform aimed at the entire family and that Argentina is one of the most developed markets in the region regarding streaming.
