A few months after starting the shooting of the bioseries José José, El Príncipe De La Canción (80×60’) in Mexico City, produced by Telemundo Studios and Estudios TeleMéxico, its producer, Gabriela Valentán, assured that this project will cover 35 years of the life of the singer of El Triste. The series will soon be aired on the Telemundo screen.
Valentán, who has been part of projects such as La Doña, explained that the bioseries are based on the book Ésta Es Mi Vida (This is My Life), written by the artist in 2008, so he has supervised and contributed to the scripts.
“We are building the story based on this book. We are reflecting the human side, the idol and the working man who made more than 33 records and 350 songs. We want it to be a project worthy of a singer like him,” she commented.
She mentioned that the series will take a year to be produced, with locations in Mexico City to manage to recreate the most important scenes in his life in the period between the 1970s and the 2000s.
Along with Valentán, Salvador Montes is on the production team, while Carlos Villegas and Diego Mejía are directing. The script is written by Basilio Álvarez.
The cast is comprised by Alejandro de la Madrid, María Fernanda Yepes, Danna Paola, Itatí Cantoral, among others otros.
