Vme premieres the first two seasons of ¡Espléndida! (26×30′), a lifestyle show hosted by the Venezuelan Alessandra Villegas, debuting Wednesday the 7th at 10:30am, with a weekly episode. The show, whose first five seasons aired on ¡HOLA! TV in Latin America and the US Hispanic is in the process of starting its sixth season.
Villegas said that the purpose of the show “is to help women reach their greatest potential by offering information, advice, and secrets that help make them become the best version of themselves”.
Villegas returns to the screen where she started very young with a space very different from ¡Espléndida!, but always with the goal of offering educational content to the audience.
“We are going for the sixth season and we are happy that Vme is now broadcasting it and being able to reach that audience that saw me grow. I started with Vme at the age of 18, they gave me a very nice opportunity, a totally different program and then I evolved within the company, where I did three or four different projects, always aiming to motivate, educate, inspire the Vme’s viewers,” commented Villegas.
¡Espléndida!, which includes segments on beauty, health, exercise, etiquette, fashion, hairstyles, and nutrition, is executive produced by Argentine Mariela Mastrángelo, a partner of Villegas, and the production house is Kontrol Productions.
“It has been very satisfying. One looks back and realizes that the journey has a purpose. To return home to Vme with my own project, having their support and Mr. Eligio (Cedeño) and the Vme team blindly believing in my work, which is extremely flattering. And it’s very nice that the Vme audience, who have known me since I was very young, can now see me in this phase of mother, friend, wife, where I have a lot to offer,” said the presenter.
Regarding the sixth season, which will begin recording soon, Villegas said that it will take place at Cap Cana in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. “The set of ¡Espléndida! is outdoors. I have always liked recording in spectacular settings, that feels like vacations,” she noted.
She explained that the show requires huge production logistics. Between pre-production, production, and postproduction it takes about three or four weeks for each season. “There are days when I can do 30 wardrobe changes,” she added.
“Beyond giving advice, we seek to entertain the audience. I like to emphasize to my audience that we are an echo of what they write to us on our social media. We seek to give answers to all those uncomfortable questions regarding the couple, sexuality, maternity, among other topics,” she concluded.
