The seventh edition of the Premios PRODU brought together the entire Latin American entertainment industry and demonstrated why it has become the most significant and convening event in the region. During its two days of streaming, more than 500 talents from +150 productions, platforms, and television channels from 20 countries participated, either as finalists, winners, or interviewees.
El Amor después del Amor (Mandarina and Netflix) and El Grito de las Mariposas (Disney and Pampa) were the top winners with 4 awards each. With three distinctions are: Vgly (Warner Bros. Discovery and Exile), División Palermo (K&S and Netflix), Apagón (Buendía Estudios and Movistar Plus+), El Hijo Zurdo (Movistar Plus+, Atípica Films), La Reina del Sur 3 (Telemundo and Netflix).
Vgly, of Exile Content Studio and Warner Bros. Discovery, Best Musical Series, won the Grand Prize for Fiction, and Falso Amor of Banijay Iberia, Best Original Ibero-American Competition Reality Content, won the Grand Prize for Entertainment.
The country with the most awards was Mexico with 30, followed by Argentina with 26, Spain with 19, Colombia with 14, the US with 8, Brazil with 7, Chile and Peru with 5, Turkey with 3, Bolivia with 2, and Cuba, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Uruguay, and Ecuador with 1.
For the first time within the framework of the PRODU Awards, a cocktail party was held in Madrid, including high executives from the major production companies in Spain and nominated actors, which demonstrated that the relations and ties between Spain and Latin America are already a tangible reality.
“We applauded at the closure of this spectacular event, the largest on Ibero-American TV, thanks to the +500 celebrities from different continents displayed on the screen of these PRODU Awards and the 41 digital allies who simultaneously broadcast the event. See you all in 2024,” said Ríchard Izarra, founder of PRODU.
