Pay TV channel Zee Mundo with the best in Bollywood films is launched on DishLATINO

The new pay TV channel {Zee Mundo;www.produ.com/television/videos/index.html?Noti=11504}, featuring the best Bollywood films never seen in the US nor in Latin America, launched on Wednesday, September 7 in the US on DishLATINO, entirely dubbed into Spanish with international talent voices. “We are happy to have this first launch with such a strong partner,” said Javier Casella, GM and Head of Business for Zee Mundo.

The five main categories in the Zee Mundo programming are action, romance, drama, thriller, and comedy. The first three over index among Hispanics. However, many of these films mix some elements from each genre. All the movies are in HD. The channel is backed by the movie library of parent company media mogul, Zee Entertainment.

“Before the launching of the channel, a research study was conducted with focus groups in key markets that showed acceptance and connection with the content. This previous consultation showed that the plots of the films presented topics that resonate with Hispanics”, expressed Rolando Figueroa, Head of Marketing. Additionally, studies support the fact that Hispanics have a much higher rate of going to movie theaters than the general market. Worldwide ratings indicate that the production standards of the films shown on Zee Mundo are comparable to those of any major studio.

Aside from the linear channel, Zee Mundo will have TV everywhere and catch-up TV services as part of the distribution agreement.

Zee Mundo´s management offices are in Doral, Miami. US Affiliate Sales and Advertising are based in their New York office; Broadcast Operations in New Jersey and Master Control at Zee Entertainment in Noida, India.
