Pasiones has acquired the Latin American rights to the premiere of the popular Korean drama Mamá Enojada, which will debut on Monday, November 28, 2016. The novela will air on Pasiones Monday through Friday
As part of the k-pop craze that has taken the world by storm, Mamá Enojada joins the list of highly successful Korean novelas that have premiered on Pasiones.
“The doramas have become a global sensation, especially in Latin America, and we are thrilled to continue offering our viewers the most successful novelas of this genre,” said Francisco Gimenez, general manager of Cable Networks for Hemisphere Media Group, Inc., Pasiones’ parent company.
Mamá Enojada tells the story of Jo Kang-ja, a notorious high school bully, who unexpectedly becomes pregnant, drops out of school and tries to be a responsible mother to her daughter, Oh Ah-ran. Fast-forward to the present, the two women— Kang-ja now in her thirties and Ah-ran a teenager— struggle to get along with one another. However, when Kang-ja finds out her daughter is being bullied at school, she steps in and enrolls in her daughter’s high school as an undercover student.
During its broadcast in South Korea, the successful Korean drama captivated viewers, reaching an average audience share of 14.3%.
