Pasiones secures hit Turkish premiere Gumus distributed by Somos Distribution

Pasiones will air the global Turkish phenomenon Gumus (200×45’), on Monday, March 6, at 8pm ET/5pm PT. The hit novela joins the list of booming Turkish dramas that have gained a wide following among telenovela-watchers in the U.S. Gumus is distributed by Somos Distribution.
Gumus tells the emotional story of a humble woman, Gumus, who has been in love with the handsome Mehment since childhood. After losing his girlfriend in a tragic car accident, Mehmet obeys his grandfather’s plea to take a wife and marries Gumus— even though he has yet to recover from the loss of his former love. While Gumus is thrilled her wish has finally come true, she soon realizes his heart is not in it and is devastated in this modern twist love story.
“Our viewers continue to show a great interest in drama-packed Turkish productions and we’re excited to be on the cutting edge of this growing trend,” said Francisco Giménez, general manager of Cable Networks for Hemisphere Media Group, Inc., Pasiones’ parent company.
Gumus will replace the popular Turkish novela, Sila: Cautiva por Amor, and will air on Pasiones Monday through Friday.
