Pasiones secures exclusive US premieres of the Turkish dramas Tormenta de Pasiones and the second season of Elif

Tormenta de Pasiones
Pasiones has acquired the exclusive U.S. premieres of two highly popular Turkish dramas, the first of which, Tormenta de Pasiones will debut on Monday, March 5, at 6pm ET/3pm PT. Following the huge success of the first season of Elif, Pasiones will premiere the second season of the Turkish drama on Wednesday, March 7, at 8pm ET/5pm PT.
“Turkish dramas have amassed an immense and loyal following among our viewers, and we are committed to delivering dramas with the exotic locations, intriguing storylines, and striking casts they love,” said Francisco Giménez, SVP and general manager at Hemisphere Media Group, Inc., Pasiones’ parent company.
Set in the late 1960s, Tormenta de Pasiones tells the story of a sea captain, Ali Akarsu, who returns after a long voyage to his wife Cemile, who cares for their four children. However, when Cemile discovers a hidden letter revealing Ali’s secret life at sea, the lives of the entire Akarsu family begin to unravel in this dramatic story of love and betrayal.
The second season of Elif picks up from the first season’s tragic ending and continues to follow the Emiroglu family. The young protagonist Elif still finds herself caught in the middle of the family power struggle, where secrets, crimes, and betrayals make this a can’t-miss new season.
