Olympusat: In five years most of the Hispanic business will migrate to OTT

In the framework of the Hispanic Television Summit there was a discussion on OTT platforms, online distribution and TV everywhere, in which Tom Mohler, Olympusat CEO, said he considered that in five years most of the Hispanic business would move to OTT. “In 2016 we will be having more offers for Hispanic content in this area”, he commented.For his part, Aymeric Genty, CEO of Alterna’TV stated that in five years there will be no differentiation between traditional and OTT distributors.Mark López, executive VP and general manager of Univision Digital, said that in the future, consumption of content will continue growing and the programmatic purchase and sale will grow phenomenally. “Nielsen will not be the only measuring tool”, he added.Michael Tribolet, CEO of YipTV, stated that his platform is an alternative method, and that they are not encouraging cord-cutting. Dave Alloway, director of Consumer Experiences at NeuLion, said that by 2018 there will be many more TVs connected to the Internet.“We are already 90% more connected”. For Pete Salgado, founder and CEO of TuYo TV, the evolution that is coming in TV is similar to what has happened in music.
